Roy Poulson has been training horses professionally since 2005 and loving it!  He has had many wonderful opportunities to learn the art of horsemanship from some of the best horsemen in the world.  In 2010 and again in the spring of 2014, he traveled to Ohio to ride with Shawn Flarida, who, in 2017, became the first person to reach the National Reining Horse Association's 6 million dollar rider status.  He has also personally met and observed Clinton Anderson, a top horse trainer and clinician.  Roy started many well-bred horses at the Buffalo Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas where he was able to learn about starting cutting horses from Greg Smith, an experienced cutting-horse trainer and earner of over one million dollars in NCHA competition.  While attending Utah State University in Logan, Utah, Roy was able to spend some time riding with and observing Shane Haviland, an experienced reined cowhorse trainer.  In addition to personal riding experience with these, and other great horsemen, Roy is always trying to learn and become a better horse trainer by watching videos and reading articles by great horse trainers, and then applying, adapting, and adopting new exercises and principles into his own training program.  Roy has had the pleasure of riding (and learning from) great horses such as RC Fancy Step (trained and shown by Shawn Flarida), Wimpys Showstopper (trained and shown by Shawn Flarida), and Custom Harley (trained and shown by Jody Brainard, Andrea Fappani, and Shawn Flarida).  What a thrill!  He was also privileged to start SDP Justice is Comin who went on to show successfully in reining competition under the guiding hand of Shawn Flarida.
